About
The Brookwood Farmers’ Market made its debut on Friday May 21, 2010, thanks to the founder and visionary, Kelly Walczak. Kelly grew up in the Northeast where farmers’ markets were plentiful. Since moving to South Forsyth in 2002, she longed for one that was near where she and her family lived. On a trip to Washington, D.C. in 2009, the idea to create a farmers market came to her as she and her husband walked the city and happened across a wonderful market. She immediately envisioned such a place in her area where friends and family could come together to socialize, shop, and give back to both the community and earth. This busy mom of three returned home with enthusiasm and ambition to make her vision come true. Kelly wisely approached her children’s elementary school PTA and shared her idea and they gladly agreed to sponsor the market. With the additional support of the school’s principal, the market can call the parking lot of Brookwood Elementary home.
The market is truly community supported due to all the dedicated parents who eagerly jumped on board to help. They were instrumental in getting the market off the ground and without them, the market could not exist. We truly appreciated the help of all our volunteers who kept it going!
The Brookwood Farmers Market, a non-profit organization, will fill a gap in the community of South Forsyth and Johns Creek by making available locally grown Georgia produce and goods. Shop from an array of fresh locally grown produce, meat, eggs, bread, flowers, soaps, and much more. Please click here for a list of all participating vendors.
There will be activities for the kiddies (stay tuned for specifics) and live music will drift in the background for your entertainment. Don’t miss out on this fabulous and healthy way to kick off your weekends! Free admission. Open to the public. Best to bring cash since not all vendors accept credit cards or checks.
Be sure to join our facebook page where we will update you with the latest news. Please spread the word and tell your friends and neighbors about our community’s market. We’ll see you there! The market is open rain or shine.

Hello – I was just curious – will the vendors only accept cash? I think this is a great idea and can’t wait to see it!
Molly – I would come prepared with cash. Some will accept credit cards and/or checks but I’m not sure who they are or how many are willing to do it. So glad you’ll be coming by. See you Fri!
You guys, I am so excited to find out about this! It truly does fill a gap in our area. I am going through chemotherapy for breast cancer right now (it was an early stage) and I am scrambling to educate myself about feeding my family better. We will be there!
