Construction at our new home for the BFM, Caney Creek Preserve is coming along nicely.  Please take a moment to click on the link below for a quick video clip of the natural amphitheater (where our vendors will set up) as it looks from the parking lot. We will be arranging vendors in a horseshoe configuration so everyone can be seen, leaving a big beautiful open space in the middle.

The Brookwood Farmers’ Market is excited to announce the kick-off to our third season.  We are thrilled to be moving the market from the Brookwood Elementary School parking lot to the brand new Caney Creek Preserve park, just around the corner on Caney Road . In years past the market suffered from the heat of the pavement but the new park will provide a lush and shady alternative! Caney Creek Preserve also boasts a dog park, walking trail, shaded playground, pavilions, restroom facilities, parking and a natural outdoor amphiteather.

Forsyth County has slated the Grand Opening of the park to take place Friday June 15th in conjunction with our Brookwood Farmers’ Market kickoff! Of course this is a tentative date, an updated release will be sent upon final word.

We are looking forward to a great season of sharing natural, local, organic goods and products with our neighbors and friends.  We will also be encouraging our young kids to learn how to make healthy choices and plant their own gardens! Although our location is changing, the Brookwood Elementary PTA is still managing the market and money raised will be returned to the school and put back into the farmers market.

Welcome to our 3rd Season!

Thank you for your interest in the Brookwood Farmers’ Market.  We are now accepting applications for the 2012 season.  Please complete the Vendor Application, review and sign the Policy Statement.  Once complete, either email, fax or mail your completed document to the attention of Kelly Walczak at the address/number listed on the application.  The committee will then contact you after your application has been reviewed.

Please also review and make sure you are adhering to the official farmers market regulations for the state of Georgia.

Managers of the Brookwood Farmers’ Market are delighted to announce the market with have new and improved home for the summer of 2012 season.  The market will move just around the corner to the brand new park, Caney Creek Preserve.  The park is located on Caney Road, just off of Brookwood Road near Highway 141.  There will be two parking lots, shade pavilions, a walking trail, a dog park, restroom facilities, a playground (in the shade) and lots of space to run and play.

Vendors will be setting up just next to the second parking lot near the natural amphitheater.  Patrons will have easy access to shade pavilions, restrooms, the playground and dog park. The park is scheduled to open in early June and the Brookwood Farmers’ Market will plan its grand opening in conjuction with the ribbon cutting.

The Brookwood Farmers’ Market will continue to bring you the best in local and organic produce, goods and products in an even better more exciting setting.  Members of the Brookwood Elementary PTA together with community volunteers will continue to oversee the market. Volunteers are always needed so if you’re interested please visit us the Brookwood Farmers’ Market on Facebook and drop us a message.

There will be an announcement once a grand opening date has been set.  The Brookwood Farmers’ Market will continue to be open every Friday from 4-7 throughout the summer months!

It’s time to get your heapin’ helpin’ of  the finest local apples.  The cooler air and Autumn’s official welcome has us craving apple pie, apple cider, candied apples…all the yummy possibilities.  Our vendors will be offering special apple themed treats this week and our apple vendor is bringing in truck loads of apples.  Market Peaches (who brought us those scrumptious peaches) is stocking up on all sorts of apple goodies as well; fried apple pies and cider.  The apples come fresh from Mercier Farms direct to Brookwood Farmers’ Market.

We will also have lots of apple themed games for the kids to play and win prizes.  Fresh & Frozen Hawaiian Shave ice will again have “caramel apple” flavor!

Also, if you haven’t noticed hair feathers are all the rage among young girls and we have a new vendor this week, Hair Connection who will be doing hair feathers (at a cheaper price than most places around town).

Get your glad rags on and head on out to the Brookwood Farmers’ Market Harvest Hoe Down this Friday September 16th.  It’s sure to be a hootin’ n hollerin’ good time!  There will be lots of fun things for the kids to do including the Market March (much like a cake walk) with fun prizes from our vendors and a free Hay Ride!  Live music will fill the air compliments of Bob Carr ~ a market favorite!  He’ll be singing kid friendly, sing-along, hoe down type music.  Several “ready to eat” vendors like Shane’s Rib Shack, CiCi’s Pizza and the Pressed for Time Panini Truck are coming so you can take care of dinner at the market.  And we will have lots and lots of our favorite vendors on hand!  Grab your market tote and get ready to kick up those heels!

This nice cool weather (and the rain it brought with it) might be putting you in the mood for some well-loved Autumn traditions.  Fall-like temperatures mean big fun at the Brookwood Farmers’ Market.  This Friday we are celebrating Lambert High School Spirit Night.  Come out and shop the market from 4-7 and visit your favorite vendors while the kids get geared up for the Lambert football game at 7:30.  In addition to all the wonderful things our vendors have to offer (local, fresh, organic vegetables, goods and merchandise) we will also be painting faces, applying spirited temporary tattoos and spray painting hair in Bobcat Green and Lambert Crimson!

Joe Perri will be helping us keep things festive with live music.  Gymnastics World of Georgia is donating the use of their big inflatable Castle for the kids’ enjoyment (all for free).  And Fresh & Frozen Hawaiian Shave Ice will be selling the Bobcat (green apple and banana) and the Lambert (Raspberry) flavors along with a few other specials!

So come get your cake pops, tomatoes, tarts…oh and your game face on…at the BFM this Friday September 9th!

Okay Brookwood Farmers’ Market patrons it’s time to really show your support of our local farmers, artisans and vendors who have labored all summer in their gardens, kitchens and workshops.

It’s the unofficial last hoorah of the summer with this weekend’s observance of Labor Day.  Most folks have family gatherings planned or maybe a nice relaxing three day weekend in the works.   How about getting things off on the right foot by shopping for some delicious produce and products this Friday from 4-7 at the Brookwood Farmers’ Market!

The construction on Brookwood Road had traffic a little snarled last week but that’s all a bygone memory and we are ready for your business.  We’re situated off Vaughn Road between Highway 141 and McGinnis Ferry — just look for the signs and balloons at the traffic light!
