Ace of Tarts: Mini maple pies
Kim’s recipe for her mini maples has been in her family for years. The recipe came from her grandmother and with each generation, has improved. Still the same great recipe, just a little modification. In Canada where Kim was born, her pies are called Butter Tarts and are very common. They can be found in many stores but are not made from scratch like hers are. She makes her pastry by hand and uses 100% pure maple syrup. After many of her friends insisted she make them and get a store to sell them, here she is…selling these delicious treats at the Brookwood Farmers’ Market!

The bees not only pollinate the plants but bring back to the hives the pollen and nectar from which they make the honey. They also carry sourwood honey from their hives in Habersham County and tupelo which, because it doesn’t have dextrose in its makeup, can be tolerated by many diabetics.
